Eurycoma longifolia is a small tree generally found in Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia. He is known by many local names as Pasak bumi but his common name is Tongkat Ali . It literally means “Ali’s staff” and seems to give a clue as to why it’s being used.

Although different parts of Eurycoma longifolia are traditionally used for different medical applications, this tree is best known for its roots (and the extract of its roots), which are consumed by men to increase their libido and treat sexual disorders like erectile dysfunction. Tongkat Ali has been defined by some as “Asian viagra” for its powerful increase in sexual desire and performance.

The exact functioning of the aphrodisiac Tongkat Ali has long remained a mystery, but a recent study has shown that the root of Eurycoma longifolia increased testosterone levels.

The testosterone hormone is responsible for many aspects of the human reproductive system, and it is one of the essential factors in the body’s change that occurs between adolescence and adulthood. But even more importantly, testosterone conditions sexual behavior. A low level of testosterone can lead to loss of desire and difficulty maintaining the erection.

The hypothalamus regulates the body’s hormone levels. When a certain threshold is reached, it signals the glands to stop the production of hormones. Tongkat Ali temporarily blocks this signal, letting the glands continue to produce hormones.

Tongkat Ali positively affects the production of hormones in the body. The effect is not the same as anabolic steroids. Although both lead to increased hormones, Tongkat Ali achieves these effects in a much more natural way.

Injecting steroids interrupts the production of the body’s hormones. Your glands will receive the signal to stop the production of hormones even when none has been produced. This can lead to atrophy of the hormonal system. Tongkat Ali indirectly increases your testosterone level, essentially by blocking the production stop signal of these body hormones. This means that the body’s hormone production continues in a natural way.

High testosterone levels lead to increased sexual potential, especially for those with low libido or erectile dysfunction. Clinical trials have shown that boosting testosterone strengthens erection. It does not help to prolong the sexual pleasure, although the virility is increased as well as the general energy level, so you can have several orgasms in the same night. Tongkat Ali is also used by athletes, especially body-builders, to increase muscle mass.

The effects are not immediate at the first dose and will gradually take place.

In Malaysia, Tongkat Ali’s roots are boiled like a tea with an average dosage of 20 grams. Athletes can take higher doses. Boil for at least 30 minutes to release the alkaloids.

If you plan to use Tongkat Ali over a long period of time, we recommend that you have periods of rest so as not to develop natural resistance to its effects. Use for 2 days then stop the third day. For a longer period, same instructions: one month break after two months of use.

All effects of Tongkat Ali can be attributed to increased hormones. The following were noted: problems with falling asleep, anxiety and mood swings.

Do not use in case of cardiac or vascular problems, high blood pressure, breast cancer, prostate cancer, kidney disease, liver disease, sleep apnea or diabetes. Do not combine with drugs. Consult a health professional if in doubt.
